The American Womens Club of Antwerp is designed to help American women (and women of other nationalities) settle into life in Belgium. The Newcomers portion of the AWCA is specifically designed to address issues, answer questions and, oh yes, meet wonderful women who have or are experiencing the same difficulties, wonderful experiences and laughs while enjoying life in this lovely part of Europe that we are all so fortunate to call home. The club has many activities and tours to join to help you continue an interest and/or learn something new. Newcomers helps clear the fog of the unknown.
Our newest members attend monthly Newcomers' Coffees where they can meet other people who are new to the area, have their questions answered, and learn more about life in Belgium. In addition there are occasional Newcomers' Field Trips designed to make your day-to-day life in Belgium easier. For example, visits to local grocery stores, local fresh farm markets, the bakery, the American Food Store and the British Food Store. We have a Newcomers’ Committee which is dedicated to helping make your transition go more smoothly.
Getting There - We are very happy to arrange transportation or give directions to meetings and field trips. Just ask!
Babysitting - Free babysitting is available at Newcomers Coffees. When RSVPing, please let us know how many children you will be bringing.
