About Us |
AWC Antwerp is a social, cultural and philanthropic club of English-speaking women from all over the world.
History and Values Motto: May we always be generous and never hasty in judgment. Purpose: Our purpose is to create a center of social, cultural, and philanthropic activities for women in the greater Antwerp area. AWC Antwerp held its first meeting in 1929 as a social club by the wives of American men working in Antwerp following World War I. The club will be celebrating its 95th Founders Day in February of 2024. We now have a membership of almost 100 women from all over the world. Philanthropy AWC Antwerp has a long history of philanthropic spirit. Caring Hearts, a group of club members making heart-shaped pillows for breast cancer patients, has been active since 2008. Locally, each year we volunteer and raise funds for a variety of charities and local community groups in need of support, particularly those helping disadvantaged women and children.
